I talk too much my mouth hurts

Third exam done and over with this morning.
One more to go, on Monday afternoon! It's French, so I hope I do well, though I, as with everyone else, am just so over all these... I want to be FREE!!!

Papa and Sis chatting away teasingly to each other.

Shower upstairs. Through the window I can see the neighbourhood. Hope they don't look up and see me naked.
My left shin in torn open. Torn, as in I can see the bone and the muscles opened into flaps, sticking out. They are not red, but more like dark wine colour, almost black. They don't hurt, but they don't look fresh, and it's a big rip. Almost looks like chunks of hair. Yuck. Mum tells me not to touch it. I don't.

Weird dream. I have been neglecting the blog lately, because, well, it IS the exam times. Finally the exams start tomorrow, for me at least, because everyone else seem to already have started and even finished. The exams period started two weeks ago, you see.

I have been dreaming again. The above dream is actually quite easy to decipher. Father daughter bond, not as common as the mother daughter bond, right? I miss my Papa.. lol
The second scene of the shower is probably because someone moved in the building next to ours, and his window faces directly into our bathroom. Since our shower is right next to the window, I am pretty sure the person can see us - and watch us - if he wanted to. We see a head bobbing up and down behind the window sometimes, not very often, so not sure if a man or a woman, yet.

The injured leg probably comes from my watching my favourite TV show 'Bones' that was on last night. It was about witches and spells. The spell didn't murder, though. Science proved that.

Received a package this morning, the 'An Education' DVD I won from a magazine!

I had to write in a certain number of words why I liked the movie, when I submitted to the competition. I wrote them an after note that the next day was my 21st, and it would be awfully nice to get this as a birthday gift :)

Yay! This film is one of my fav's for this year. So can't wait to watch it again, after the exams!!

It's the exam times. I need to eat well. That's my excuse.
Met I (and later J) for a late dinner, at one of my favourite places in Auckland, the Occidental. Sooo full! Should be going to bed, probably, get a rest for another day of studies tomorrow, but no, I'm watching NZ's first football game in the World Cup, against Slovekia at the moment. Do we have a chance? So far nothing exciting, but you never know, I guess, there is always an element of surprise. Had lunch with Sis as well, today, also big, even bigger than the breakfast. Stop eating too much, Viv. Went to the gym today. Felt so good. Gosh, I'm tired.

The one week that I went to the gym everyday, started eating more because was using more energy. Now I don't go to the gym as often, but still eat the same amount. I feel fat..

The opening of the FIFA World Cup 2010 was last night, or this morning, whichever way you look at it. In NZ time it started around 1am. Was really really excited about it, and we went over to our friends' house with the best TV to watch it all together...

Should have taken a nap, because I was already quite tired by then. But I'd been so hard at study that day! (Actually, just LONG hours of sitting down, just a book gone over.) The opening wasn't as grand as I'd expected, especially since it was in daytime their time, so no fireworks or anything spectacular like that. The first game followed the opening straight away, with the host country South Africa versus Mexico. What a disappointment. The first half was such a bore, that we decided we'd just go home to sleep. Sorry J, who wanted to stay but left with us, because he didn't want to be the only one left lol.

But we have our own TV at home, so we continued watching (at least for a while, for me, anyway). South Africa scored one goal first, then later Mexico. So, the overall outcome was 1:1. Which is not that exciting, considering how Mexico should have been in theory better than South Africa, even if they are playing on their home turf. Mexico did have better possession ratio and better passing skills, though.

The second game, which we didn't watch, because we don't have SKY, was between Uruguay and France. Not too sad that we missed it though, since the score was 0:0, though don't know how the game was.

Went to sleep at around 4am. I don't think I'll go to the gym today. Or uni. Will study at home. The first South Korean game is on tonight, at 11.30pm, against Greece. However, I will give that a miss, too, because I need to get to work by 9 am tomorrow, and don't want to be falling asleep at work!

I watched 'City Lights' by Charlie Chaplin; I think maybe you have seen it
as well? Because I seem to remember you telling us this story when we were
younger, about a blind girl and a poor man who goes out of his way to help
restore her sight, and the sad ending when she realises the poor state of the
man who has helped her. It was a really good film, anyway.

This is what I wrote to Papa after having seen the movie 'City Lights' directed by Charlie Chaplin. Apparently the ending is one of the best in film history, and indeed it is very sad. The flower girl who must have dreamt about her 'rich' prince that brought light to her life, only to find that it was a poor funny looking tramp. If she had not recognised even the touch of his hand, it would have been less painful. But she did, and they can only look at each other, because as grateful as she is, she is probably not going to be with him.

What is amazing about the film is that Charlie Chaplin composed all the scores of the film, as well as direct, produce, edit, and act in it. He is one talented man! The film took around 2 and a half years to finish, with 180 days of shooting. Apparently his co star, Virginia Cherrill, and he were not on very friendly terms. At one point she was late for an appointment, and thus fired. But it had already taken too much time and money by then to replace her, so she offered to come back, at double her original salary. Sneaky girl!

Of course I didn't go see this for the story, but I am sorry, the acting was quite likely the worst that I have seen in a movie in a very long time. I sat there cringeing most of the two and a half hour story, trying to focus on the fashion instead. Loved the dresses, mind you, though some of the styles were not to my taste. Please let there not be a third one!

The weekend has past. It's Queen's Birthday today, so a public holiday, but it doesn't really mean much for me since the classes have finished, and so I'm half on holiday from now on, anyway. I say half, because there's still the exams to go. But the first one is in two weeks; it's so far away, yet not far enough not to worry about them. I feel like just lying in bed all day today. However I may be on call soon, it's not certain at the moment so I should start getting ready. Argh. Should I start studying today? I guess I'll have to do something, at least. I do want to get my French assignment out of the way asap.

Going to the movies with C tomorrow, going to watch Sex and the City 2! It's going to put me in a travel mood, I know, but who cares!

My Flatmate just handed me my breakfast. She made me dinner last night as well. Lol. I am so lucky.

It's a black and white film, again, and a silent one, about a farmer who is convinced by his city lover to drown his wife and come live with her. What a horrible plan! He at first is shocked, but unable to wipe his mind of the thoughts of his lover, he carries out the plan.

The plan backfires, though, and the Man and his lovely little wife end up having a day filled with fun and laughter, taking a photograph, saving a piglet, dancing, drinking.. When it's time to go back they are content and much in love.. But the night has not yet finished with them...

The Man, George O'Brien, somehow reminded me of Nicholas Cage, but in this case, in a good loving husband way. For all the glimpses of Cage that I got, the Man is actually quite handsome. The Wife is so dainty and ladylike, it is amusing to watch her, in the hopes of learning a bit of her charm, which shines out even through the silent-ness of the film.

I went to France in my dream last night!

With A, my French tutor... ;;; She is due to go back soon, and I joined her, instead to going down to Christchurch. It was all very last minute so everything was in a rush. By the time I arrived in France, where A told me to take off my glasses because they are 'too bright', I remembered that I should probably call my parents to let them know I will not be seeing them anymore.

It is pouring in Paris, and it doesn't even look like Paris, but some slum corner of an unknown city. We get into a taxi with an Indian driver, who takes us to this brick hostel building with wire fences, that looks gloomy and cold and not very welcome... But here we are.

There is a national no 1 team, and I want to go train in their club.
I see a girl from my intermediate whom I didn't like, who were stuck up and believed to be a good gymnast, but turns out she is only at a beginner's level.

There is a huge hall with many people, among them gymnasts, and bathrooms... It seems like a food hall, a cafeteria...
