It's a black and white film, again, and a silent one, about a farmer who is convinced by his city lover to drown his wife and come live with her. What a horrible plan! He at first is shocked, but unable to wipe his mind of the thoughts of his lover, he carries out the plan.

The plan backfires, though, and the Man and his lovely little wife end up having a day filled with fun and laughter, taking a photograph, saving a piglet, dancing, drinking.. When it's time to go back they are content and much in love.. But the night has not yet finished with them...

The Man, George O'Brien, somehow reminded me of Nicholas Cage, but in this case, in a good loving husband way. For all the glimpses of Cage that I got, the Man is actually quite handsome. The Wife is so dainty and ladylike, it is amusing to watch her, in the hopes of learning a bit of her charm, which shines out even through the silent-ness of the film.

A delight!
