Date night! Should we go for a romantic candle lit choice by popular Ponsonby, soak up the artsy atmosphere on K Rd or have a quiet night in with a bottle of bubblies?

A and I both had had a full on week with great news and wanted to celebrate. Out first choice wasn't open on Sunday nights unfortunately so...

We decided for a quiet romantic one drinking craft beers at the local Garden Shed.

The Garden Shed is a pretty place filled with hanging flower pots and fairy lights filling the ceiling above the craft beer taps. In the canopied backyard there is a fireplace and a corrugated waterfall wall, a cosy place on a drizzling chilly Sunday evening with your close one.

A rare date night at a beautiful place. We chatted over our half pints, a shared charcuterie platter, and skinny chips with aioli, sipping on our sparkling pale ales. Before hurrying back to pack for another work trip, we also got to finish off with a panna cotta with a passionfruit jus pourover. Miam.

Wouldn't mind another similar date night at all...
