Lunch place: Kinfolk
Wednesday, January 08, 2014
Kinfolk is a cool cafe on the other side of the Bourke Street Mall, a type of place that draws you in, even when it's closed. R and I first caught sight of it on our evening wanders in town one night. We were so disappointed to see that it had just closed.
The cafe looked so inviting, and so warm. Kinfolk definitely is a warm place. It is run by volunteers, and the cafe is a social business, supporting various causes in Rwanda, Ghana, Palm Island and Melbourne.
For lunch I took the lunch menu of chorizo baguette sandwich, lentil salad and pea soup - along with the juice of the day. They were cute portions, but I was glad. They were perfect size for me. Kinfolk is, for me, a chitchat with the girlfriends place.
