Brunch place: Top Paddock
Friday, January 10, 2014
Had a train to catch early in the morning, too early. Had a lecture in a warehouse, typical cool Melbourne-style. I suggested Top Paddock as our brunch spot; E led the way. I wasn't looking where I was going and so almost passed by the place.
Once inside, kind of felt like a classy diner. Kind of. White and suits and business meetings; fast and loud and tiles. It was definitely stylish. There was a modern open fireplace by the entrance. The bathroom stocks Aesop hand wash.
The food was good - purple kumaras! - and the coffee smooth. The chatter, though disruptive due to phone calls and the hubbub around us, was light and serious and very informative. Thanks, E.
