Lunch place: PappaRich
Thursday, September 10, 2015Metro Centre is changing! Upon hearing that a new restaurant had recently opened in Metro Centre, I took my family to PappaRich for lunch.
Luckily, we hardly had to line up to get seated at this Malaysian place. The interior was modern and brightly lit, with the buzz of people coming and going from their lunch in town. There is an inside area where the light shines off the white walls, and an 'outside' area in the covered hallway that is a little more moody in a brown tone.
Among the four of us, we could try four different dishes: three rice and one noodles. The price was reasonable, between 15 and 19 NZD, the portion was big. I got curry chicken with jasmine rice, with tiny spoonfuls of spicy sauce, peanuts and anchovies, decorated with slices of cucumber. Others had fried rice with spicy chicken or chicken wings and aubergine pieces. Mum had flat noodles with prawn pieces.
We were all too full to get dessert, though some of those drinks looked refreshing and colourful.
Not bad for our first meal together in... I cannot even remember. Two years? Three years?
