Masala is a chain of Indian restaurants around Auckland. I have only been to the one in Mission Bay, following a quick stop over at Michael J Savage Memorial Park, while showing around a friend visiting from Germany. Normally I would go to the Belgian cafe when in Mission Bay, above Movenpick in the corner. However, the German friend is vegetarian and does not eat seafood, so... we thought, why not Indian? 

$10 dinners are on Mondays to Wednesdays. The patio dining area, overlooking the beach promenade, was fully occupied. We found a table as close to the windows as possible. My favourite is Palak paneer, the green curry above, with spinach and cottage cheese. The yellow curry was also vegetarian, and the red, chicken. You can also choose the degree of spiciness. Along with naans, and, ideally, mango lassis (which we didn't order this time around), it was a lovely, filling, dinner.
