Date place: Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki

Thursday, April 12, 2012

I went to the Auckland Art Gallery, finally, to see actual artworks rather than for the food. My favourite section was the linocut prints of the 1930s by such artists as Cyril Power, Sybil Andrews, and Ethel Spowers.
The Giant Stride, Ethel Spowers (1933)

The Gale, Sybil Andrews (1930)

The Tube Station, Cyril Power (1932)
