Lunch place: Tucks and Bao
Tuesday, April 25, 2017
To treat myself after a hospital visit, I got a bao and coffee deal from the 4-month old Tuck and Bao in Newmarket. At 11am it was still too early for customers. The restaurant, decorated in a mix of traditional and modern, was clean but empty as. The waiter was polite but seemingly occupied with getting ready for the day.
The single Belly Bao had a chunky pork belly slice brushed with salty sauce and placed on a little salad bed then tucked into a bao bun. It was big enough to fill me up for lunch but at $16 each, is on the pricey side.
