Dinner place: Gemmayze St

New cool place alert! There are a lot more Lebanese places in Melbourne than in New Zealand. A lot more Greek places, too, but then we can't be too greedy. When I heard that Gemmayze St was opening in the new St Kevin's Arcade, I knew we had to try it out. The opportunity rose soon afterwards on a girls' night out. I was so enthusiastic I turned up well before the opening time of 6pm, just lingering around, watching them set up the tables in the twilight overlooking Myer's Park.
We briefly considered the set sharing menu but wasn't sure if we'd have enough time before running off to see our show at the Q Theatre, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime - which, by the way, is a fantastic play, and would highly recommend you all to go and catch. Instead, we opted for a mixture of several mezze and main dishes.
Best thing about Gemmayze St is their bread and dips. We kept dipping and dipping, and asking for more bread, they were just so good! The main dish size isn't a whole lot bigger than the entrées, just a warning. My favourite was the octopus mezze, mmmm miam. I hope this family restaurant stays a long time on K Road!
