More late night catch up desserts, please..

I don't plan to stay out late, Gran. It's just that you don't really spend the fun hours with friends checking the time constantly.

In all honesty, even if I knew the time was getting late, I would say to myself, just a bit longer, a teeny wee bit more. Because whether it's a weekday or the weekend, time with friends pass by too quickly. A few laughters and it's already three hours gone. And that was only over a meal. What about dessert?

So many people to meet, so little time. These people may have been my friends for a decade, or only a few months, or even days. There are some who are cautious about letting people into their lives. I am not like that. I could walk down a street and start chatting to a person, and become best friends. True story, and D is one of my dearest friends ever.

Hopefully these people will be my friends for a long time. I don't get to see most of them physically much, because I'm always moving around. Which is why I'm constantly catching up with people. Perhaps we will one day drift apart, only to be left as traces of distant experiences shared through Facebook. I hope not. I hope we will meet soon again, so we can have a lovely catch up, and be like we'd never parted.

A friend told me just yesterday that if you have one true decades old friend left at the age of fifty, or some other grandparental age, you will have succeeded in life. I wonder how many true friends I will have left when I have reached fifty. I already have many decades old friends, whom I can always call on and not be awkward around. It is true that you share a different kind of friendship with your childhood friends than with your uni friends or workmates. Someone also commented that workmates are not really friends. Really?! I would disagree, but then that's me.

Ah, thus is my life, blessed with so many people :)
