Every Sunday morning, my parents opened up all the windows of the house, letting the sunshine in, and blasted classical music throughout the house. I can still remember the white light-bleached living rooms of my childhood. Mum had her favourites, Dad had his. My favourite composer had always - and only - been Bach, though his work rarely featured in our morning sessions.
