ANZAC day calmness

Thursday, April 25, 2013

It feels so good to have a day off and be able to sleep in for once. No 5am scramble to the shower for me this morning, something that has been a daily habit for me since Korea last year.

ANZAC day of course is in memory of the brave souls who have fought for their countries and world peace in the World Wars. We pay respect to them by wearing little red poppies today.

As if the heavens were paying tribute as well, the skies turned off their water works suddenly this morning, and we are enjoying the unexpected sun and heat we were missing for the past few weeks.

Flatmate went off to Waiheke for the day with her family, while I enjoyed a short run to Otaku bay along Tamaki Drive. Felt so good getting fresh air pumped into my lungs. Thanks, legs. A long way to go until I am ready for the half marathon, though. Keep going!
