Been craving sushi. Seriously. The place just below my house was really nice; best sushi in Paris so far.
Morning bread with egg. Cooked the egg a bit too much though...
Had lunch with D again, a real French restaurant, no tourists!
Hate the printing machines at ScPo
It's always breaking down !!!
Actually, quite understandable in a way seeing how everyone seems to print out their whole textbooks...
But still really annoying when you're pressed for time and your class is in 5 minutes and you're panicking because you can't find a working printer... :(

I stumbled upon these 25 gourmet sandwich ideas for guys in a men's magazine. I know, how did I get to that page?! But these are really good ideas to come back to, because I am starting to feel the need to budget a bit more. I am eating out too much, and not cooking enough.
Except the last two days. :)
Look. Apart from the carrot cake I made today, I also had the time to try a coffee jelly, which apparently is a popular dessert offered in Japanese cafes, though I don't know if that's actually true or not.
Goal for the week:
Early sleep, early rise. :)
Starting tomorrow...

What does it mean to be an adult? To be adult-like?
My French buddy organised a picnic today, so I made my very first carrot cake, with the microwave, of course. It came out alright, thankfully! Unfortunately I didn't have the ingredients for the icing, nor the time, so I just added custard sauce, which was a little too runny, but sweet enough. Thanks H for inviting us :)
Viv, go to sleep already! You need it! Get off the Internet!
The first properly sunny day in Paris, like, warm enough to be in short sleeves all day.
Don't know why I was falling asleep in lectures today, it is unusual for me to do so in Paris, because normally I need to give my best attention to what's going on in class, since:
a. it's in French, or
b. it's a small class so you stand out if you're dosing.
I actually went to sleep last night, so it was strange... maybe I am still sleep deprived.
To celebrate - what?! the nice weather?! being not sick anymore?! anything!! - I went to a new patisserie and bought two desserts. There are too many kinds to ever go through them all.. and too expensive, unfortunately, but I felt I should today. Will try to make them last though... hopefully! :)

I've been sick a bit (actually, quite a lot) lately, probably because of lack of sleep and thus tiredness, but today I have been feeling much better, and have had two delicious meals out with friends to prove it :)
The first meal at lunchtime was Korean, and I ate so much that I felt almost sick again afterwards.
Dinner was with my ever wonderful French buddy. We had Thai from this caterer near my house, and ate to our heart's content, because it was cheap, and now I have something to look forward to for tomorrow's dinner as well :)
Hope I get completely well soon, though..

Here's another, a pretty commercial directed by Sofia Coppola :)
I love! By such coincidence I actually wear this perfume, so happy Natalie Portman is the face of it. The old neighbour lady commented on how nice I/it smelt when we were in the lift together the other day. :)
I have hardly cooked at all these days, ever since the bakings I did for the past few weeks. I found out today that the carrots I'd bought a week ago have turned mouldy. Drat.
Goal of the week is to get more sleep, and to cook at least once a week.
It's 4am. I have finally finished one homework. Still one other to do before I get to sleep a bit before my 10am meeting with my partner for this week's presentation on Thursday...

Oh, by the way, today was so beautiful and sunny in the early afternoon, so I got to climb the Eiffel Tower, finally! Paid in advance so wouldn't have to wait in the extremely long lines - the tourist season is definitely starting in Paris - and in no time we were at the top. However, due to the fine weather conditions, it was quite hard to get good photos because the sun was too bright in the background. Climbed down the stairs from the first platform onwards, it was no sweat, I would like to come down from the top next time, just couldn't find the staircase from up there. Climbing up would be another question altogether... :)

This YouTube clip is great! Dan Pink's talk, apparently. Who's Dan Pink? I googled him. Apparently he's an American writer, speechwriter and motivational speaker, who has also worked with Al Gore, according to his Wikipedia page.
I have slept for only around 30 hours this week. I am so tired... :(
I decided that Versailles should be postponed until the weather was warmer, when the flowers would be greeting me in their full colourful blooms. Instead, went out exploring a bit more of Paris with my girlfriends, around the Bastille and the Marais area.
The Carnavelet Museum, from which the above picture was taken, is a museum of the history of Paris. Once a family mansion, then a hotel, it is now a collection of rooms filled with paintings, scultures, and furniture from the different eras. Free for all :)

Keep telling me that
you miss me.
You bring smiles to
my lips.
All day :)

Let's take it slow,
just one thing at a time.
Step. Step.
With time and practice
we'll get there eventually,
you know it.
But let's just take it
one thing at a time.
Breathe.

Yellow is the colour of Spring. :)

Went on another Sunday walk organised by the school, didn't get to speak much French, but still got to see another beautiful side of Paris! At the end of the day, we stopped by a cafe and decided to stay for dinner as well, because it was so nice and they had HORSE STEAK!! lol
I've always wanted to try it. It was so nice! Not chewy or muscly at all! ;)
The food in the pic looks American, but it's not. The meat is under the egg, lol
I've been baking heaps of cakes - with the microwave.
It's so easy and quick! Mix everything together and then only 7 minutes in the microwave, then 1 minute to cool! Best for choco and sponge cakes, be aware, fruits will burn! ;)

Come Wednesday, I will finally have Internet at home! I will be connected to the world once more! We can chat, Skype, on the phone, yay yay yayayayayyayay!!!!!
Woollen jerseys made everything covered in blue and green. They also shrank to half the sizes. Drying machine spins my undies round and round, and the two guys next to me and I are silently watching its course, them with smirks on their faces…
:p

What’s in my bag ?
My Body Shop toiletries bag with earphones, Body Shop hand butter, Body Shop oil blotting paper and Chanel compact mirror, cellphone, hand sanitizer, Body Shop lipstick, notebook, pens, Starbucks tumbler (filled with H2O), a couple of serviettes, emergency pills and pads, keys with USB stick, my ever so trusty Paris routes book, hot pink wallet, mint chewing gum…I am a loyal Body Shop client :) I love to jot down stuff that come to me whenever.
Right now I am procrastinating from doing school work, lol
Happy ash Wednesday

My American friends treated me to a selection of Girl Scout cookies.
They are so nice. My friends, yes, them too, but here I am referring to the assorted sweet munches I had during my procrastination hours. Such fun names, too!
Thin Mints
Peanut Butter Sandwiches/Do-si-dos
Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs
Shortbreads/Trefoils
Caramel deLites/Samoas
My favourite = Do-si-dos!

Things I want –
white pants, nice jeans that will last, wedge heels. Clean line and minimalism, with a dash of colour here and there.
Some people can’t eat when stressed; I eat more. Some people get slimmer legs when they walk everywhere; mine just get more muscular.
Damn it. C’est ma vie :p
Sometimes being attracted to someone means talking to everyone else at a party except that very person in question, thinking I will give myself time to build up courage before introducing myself (because I want to make a good first impression!), then regretting afterwards because he leaves early even before you do.
Damn it. C'est ma vie :p

First day of March.
First day of Spring, right ?! YAYAYAYAYAY !!!!!!!
It's a beautiful day today, and I am thinking of bright yellow daffodils. Don't think they are out yet, though.
Daffodil = Jonquille en français :)

Back from my weekend in Hamburg, Germany. My first trip out of France !
It was lovely to catch up with J and J, whom I have not seen in more than one year, and one month, respectively :)
Hamburg is such a pretty city, with a mixture of old and new architecture styles. I really liked it so much, I would like to go back soon. The weather was almost fantastic the first day, sunny, with virtually no clouds. It was definitely colder than in Paris, though. Tried the sausages, the beer. LOL.
The next days were cloudy and still cold, so the second day was spent mostly inside. It was a day of eating, eating, eating. By the end of the day I was soooo full, I actually felt sick. Thanks to J's bf K for accompanying us this day :)
I was sad to come back to Paris, because of the workload that awaited me, but in a way, also nice, because my flat in Paris actually felt like home, sweet home. On the flight back to Paris I got a nose bleed, which was very surprising since I can't remember the last time I had one. I must have been quite tired.
Am at uni after dinner, to try to start on what seems like a massive pile of school work. On the first night of the holidays; how sad.
I wonder when my next trip would be :)
