Study break

I wanted to go trick or treating too!

(did anyone go though?!)

so lonely at home with no one wanting lollies from us..

Neverending

Swimming, acting, lines to memorise, verbal dispute with teacher in charge, are you looking at my breasts, a long corridor of white walls, rooms, boys, teammates, maze-y, papa, are you drunk??

Woke up exhausted. I did not even realise. Red.

No more work

Had my last day of the second job as well, so no more work, ie no more money, until I go down to my hometown after the exams! I will be starting my summer job a day after I arrive...

Happy halloween everyone!

Rendez-vous, catch up, last day

Had a rendez vous with V, catching up and getting to know her a bit more, as well as getting useful tips and ideas from her that will come handy in the future.

Had lunch with Sis, proper catch up time, sitting down and chatting. Was very full afterwards.

Last day for one of my two part time jobs today. Was quite sad to say goodbye, even though it hadn't been long since I started working there. Only three months. All the same, it was a good experience and I'd enjoyed it. So, thank you.

Full on day. Tomorrow will also be another, I think.

The very best of luck to Sis tomorrow on her first exam of the semester!

Eat Pray Love (2010) Ryan Murphy

Went to see this instead of going to church ;p

Memorable bits..
  • The Box. I too have a box of places I want to travel to, though it's not really a physical object, but a cyber one, in a series of folders and inboxes.
  • The Word. What's your word? Mine is.. I am still searching. Like I am still searching for the balance/meaning in my life.

PARIS HERE I COME!

I GOT ACCEPTED!!!!

After weeks and weeks of waiting, I finally got the green card to go study in Paris for a year, starting next January!

Understandably, I am SUPER excited, even if I still have to do really well in the upcoming exams, and then there's the issue of obtaining visas, housing, work, etc etc.

ALSO, my Bachelor's degree certificate came through the courier this morning! There are thus many reasons to be happy Viv this lovely sunny day :)

Bon weekend!!

All about my mother (1999) Pedro Almodóvar

"There are people who think that children are made in a day. But it takes a long time, a very long time. That's why it's so awful to see your child's blood on the ground. A stream that flows for a minute yet costs us years. When I found my son, he was lying in the middle of the street. I soaked my hands in his blood and I licked them. Because it was mine. Animals lick their young, don't they? I'm not disgusted by my son. You don't know what it's like. In a monstrance of glass and topaz. I would put the earth soaked by his blood."
Been watching a lot of my favourite Spanish director's movies lately. Mostly about gays, lesbians, transsexuals and all that jazz, very weird and interesting, colourful. Maybe helping with my Spanish listening, though not too sure at the moment. The above quote was very touching, so thought I'd post it. This way I won't forget. :)

Earphone, did you want to go for a swim?

Woke up to find the right ear piece of my earphone in the cup of water. Argh! What are you doing in there? Works fine still, though, luckily. :)

Dreamt of getting an acceptance letter from France, again. Argh, all this waiting is a nightmare!

I have bread in my rice cooker... Your bread.

Don't think I have been dreaming lately. Must have been having deep sleeps. Unusual.

Last night I did dream, though I almost forgot about it. Maybe it's that. I did dream but I didn't remember them as clearly as I'd used to. A lot has been on my mind lately. Laziness, for most part.

Anyway, I had a personal rice cooker in my room, separate from Flatmate's, for some reason. Inside it was a loaf of bread, which I did not expect to be there, since it wasn't mine and I hadn't put it there. I was surprised to see the fresh bread inside, and I was hungry for it. For a momentn I went through a moral dilemma. Should I? I shouldn't!? Then I just gave in, 'just a little morsel', then a few more..

I also checked my email, in my dream, and there was that much awaited email from Paris, FELICITATIONS, YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED! I remember thinking, I really wish this was true, happening for real right now, because I knew that I was in a dream.

I am doing a lot of waiting these days. Waiting for emails for me to pick up the Bachelor's certificate, to invite me to come to Paris, ...

I am waiting for cheap flights to go home for the summer, for warmer weather so I can clean out my room and closet and linen...

Happy week, peoples :)

Travelling shoes

It seems everyone I know, fine, a lot of the people I know, are putting on their travelling shoes on. They are really making me jealous for taking those steps out into the world, the world in which I would dearly love to take part in, the very world which I would love to see and feel, smell, taste!

I know, I know, I will get my chance soon, but it's just not soon enough!

Went to see the 42nd Street with friends last night. What a treat! I could not stop from grinning foolishly the whole time, whooping the actors on, tapping my feet along with the jazzy numbers. Oh, it was so good! Broadway is one of THE places I want to see, and this was just a taster, but it definitely made me thirsty for more, more, MORE!!

There are many creative people in this world, and I am glad and proud to be friends with some of them. M and his partner won an award last night for their mech project on which they have been working very hard on for the most of the year. I hear that he has quite a hang over this morning. Another friend with whom I travelled through the 30-something gruelsome hours to France years ago have just released their album, and they sound really good! Bravo for both!

Revision time!

Just as the assignments are (almost) finished...
Will start next week.

This week I was asked to help with some year 13 Chemistry problems. Oh, but it's been ages since I've done any chem!

Off to the public library I ran, to find a study guide to revise with. After the stress has somewhat passed, I was quite enjoying myself, actually. It came back more easily than I'd expected, thankfully. I used to like chemistry so much when I was in high school. It was one of my favourite subjects, and even won a prize for my achievements, one year. I know, I was, and still am, a little bit of a geek ;)

-----------------------------------------------

On the other hand, I can't believe it's already Thursday! ..Almost Friday.
Argh! Only two more weeks of lectures!!

Tuesday please come

Please, Tuesday, come quickly, so I can be done with this hell of assignments for a while.
Please, Tuesday, don't be too too quick, though, because I still need to write them! :(

Lucky me

Lost my USB + house and locker keys at uni today, because I forgot to take it out of the computer when I was leaving the lab, in my hurry to study for a Spanish test, which I didn't even do well in... Flunked the whole last section, which is one fifth of the mark.. :(

Haven't been able to think properly this week, due to all the sleepless nights trying to get the assignments finished in time. Handed one yesterday, today, and have one left to go due Tuesday... Need to get a move on... Then there's the training workshop for one of my works tomorrow, which will take up at least 8 hours out of the day... including about two hours on the bus. At least it's paid, right? Working on Sunday as well, about 5 hours, I think. Argh... Does not leave much time for the assignment, just will have to manage time really well.

Afterwards, will have to start on another French assignment and the Spanish oral... I feel sick! I need sleep! My head aches!

This month I have decided will be a no money spending one, and especially saving water. Apparently it's water awareness month.. I read it in a magazine somewhere in September and thought it'd be a good initiative. Coincidentally - or is it? - one of my friends is fundraising for a water charity group for her 20th birthday. Why are my friends so generous!?! Makes me feel so selfish! I already had another friend fundraising for cancer society for his bday earlier in the year. Seeing as it's well timed and since I won't be spending much this month, but saving as much as I can, I took part in the fundraising :) I feel happier. (Now cut down on those shower times, Viv...)

Early night tonight, if I want to be awake tomorrow for Health and Safety workshop...
Have a nice weekend, everyone.
